What is discrimination?
Discrimination is negative differential treatment based on e.g. gender, age, sexuality, ethnicity, handicap, religion etc. It is when you are treated worse than other people or receive less protection and there are no legal grounds for this.
Sometimes, though, there are legal grounds for treating people differently. It can be to ensure that everyone is treated equally. For example, children with handicaps may require special treatment to ensure they have the same opportunities as other children.
