Say no to discrimination while completing your education

You have the right to equal treatment regardless of your gender, disability, race or your ethnic origin, for instance when:

  • attending public school
  • enrolling your child in public school
  • attending adult education classes

You also have the right to equal treatment, regardless of your gender, race, skin colour, religion or faith, political opinion, sexual orientation, age, disability or national, social or ethnic origin, for example when:

  • applying for vocational training
  • applying for a work placement or internship
  • attending upper secondary school (gymnasiet)
  • completing further education

Advice and assistance

The Danish Institute for Human Rights (Institut for Menneskerettigheder) can advise and assist if you feel you have been discriminated against due to your gender, race or ethnic origin.

Where to complain

You can contact your trade union or file a complaint with the Board of Equal Treatment (Ligebehandlingsnævnet) if you believe you have been subjected to discrimination due to your gender, race, skin colour, religion or faith, political opinion, sexual orientation, age, disability or national, social or ethnic origin.
