You have the right to equal treatment regardless of your gender, disability, race, skin colour, national or ethnic origins, faith or sexual orientation, for instance when:
- buying goods
- buying a service - from a skilled craftsman or a lawyer for example
- buying travel arrangements
- buying a home
- dealing with a bank
- buying insurance
Advice and assistance
The Danish Institute for Human Rights (Institut for Menneskerettigheder) can advise and assist if you feel you have been discriminated against due to your gender, race or ethnic origin.

Where to complain
You can contact the Board of Equal Treatment (Ligebehandlingsnævnet) if you believe you have been subjected to discrimination due to your gender, race or your ethnic origin.
